What is bespoke tailoring?

Here at Megh Da Miny bespoke tailoring, I understand how exciting yet overwhelming the idea of having a bespoke garment made can be; which fabric to choose, necklines, structure, silhouette, decorative detail, layering, finishing to name a few … However, whether you choose to have a bridal gown made, a three piece suit or mother of the bride/groom outfit made rest assured I will personally be guiding, advising and be with you at each step of the process and work closely with you to ensure every decision you make, right down to the subtle finishing details, is the right decision for you. The most important factor to Kaya is that you have a garment (or several) which is the most comfortable to you, boosts your confidence, makes you feel your best and look incredible. The beauty of this process is that each design Kaya works on and constructs is unique to YOU, fits you perfectly and is a very personal to you, no one else will have this and you will have something you can truly call your own, which you have been a part of right from the initial sketch-one of a kind.

I will work closely with each individual, listening to your needs and transforming your dreams and ideas into garments that will fit perfectly and be treasured for a lifetime, whether you be bold and want to stand out, or be delicate and subtle, or want to merge two cultures, styles together, I look forward to working with you to create something spectacular. I will make you feel 100% at ease, you won’t be judged or made to feel your ideas are silly or untraditional, this is about you and you will be fully encouraged to express your traits and personality.

I also understand finding the right bridal gown or bespoke suit is daunting, especially when you don’t want the ordinary, or traditional, or modern and aren’t keen on what the high street may have to offer. I have a range of swatches to give you inspiration and examples of previous work or samples to show you, and encourage you to think outside of the box if you wish-the sky is the limit, and I endeavour to do my best to source fabrics suitable to your brief if they aren’t in the range I currently have.

To give my clients the maximum benefits of the full experience, I take on a limited number of bespoke tailoring projects per year depending on prior work commitments scheduled. Due to each garment being one of a kind and just as special, it is strongly advised to enquire at first convenience to avoid disappointment. On average, a minimum 4-6 months notice is required for bridal, 4 months for 2/3 piece suits, 4 months for mother of the bride/occasional wear, bridesmaids etc.

The benefits of bespoke include having my full attention and focus during consultations in privacy. The bespoke process is very personal and you will have frequent in-depth contact with myself at each stage, right until the handover of your special event. The beauty of the process is having involvement in something one of a kind, made especially for YOU, personally picking every detail with the help of my professional guidance and technical knowledge. You can pick styles, silhouettes, textures, fabrics, trimmings, linings, finishing details and include sentimental mementos all made to fit you at your own comfort and within your budget.
